The number of recalls issued through September by the U.S. Product Safety Commission rose by 19% compared to the same period in 2007. Two-thirds were toys, nursery items and clothing. 97% were taken off the market. 81% came from China. The Commission is understaffed and underfunded, so we believe many more items are waiting to be recalled.
